Canterbury Tales

The tales concern a disparate group of pilgrims travelling one Spring from London to Canterbury to pay homage at the shrine of the recently martyred St. Thomas A Becket. To pass the time on the journey, each must tell two tales going, and two tales coming back. The genial tavern host agrees to ride with them, be their guide and be the judge of the best tales. This classic work is renowned for its humour and bawdiness as we hear the tales of the Reeve, the Wife of Bath, the Nun’s Priest, the Pardoner, the Merchant and the Miller. Entertainment in the most classic tradition, as Chaucer’s famous characters compete with tales of chivalry, romance, humour and bawdiness as they travel to Canterbury. A 14th century English masterpiece still entertaining today's 21st century audiences.
